Het bestaat, net als gewone lucht, uit zuurstof en stikstof, maar bevat een&nbsp;<strong>hoger percentage zuurstof<\/strong>&nbsp;(meestal tussen de 22% en 40%).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De term&nbsp;<strong>EANx<\/strong>&nbsp;staat voor&nbsp;<em>Enriched Air Nitrox<\/em>, waarbij de &#8216;x&#8217; het percentage zuurstof aangeeft. Zo bevat&nbsp;<strong>EAN32<\/strong>&nbsp;(of Nitrox 32) precies 32% zuurstof.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waarom duiken met Nitrox?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Door het hogere zuurstofgehalte bevat het mengsel automatisch&nbsp;<strong>minder stikstof<\/strong>. Dit biedt belangrijke voordelen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Langere bodemtijd:<\/strong>&nbsp;Je lichaam neemt minder stikstof op, waardoor je langer onder water kunt blijven voordat je de decompressielimiet bereikt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kortere oppervlakte-intervallen:<\/strong>&nbsp;Omdat er minder stikstof in je weefsels zit, hoef je tussen twee duiken minder lang te wachten.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minder vermoeidheid:<\/strong>&nbsp;Veel duikers geven aan zich na een duik met Nitrox minder moe te voelen, hoewel dit wetenschappelijk nog niet volledig is bewezen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Extra veiligheid:<\/strong>&nbsp;Als je Nitrox gebruikt maar duikt volgens de limieten van gewone lucht, bouw je een extra veiligheidsmarge in tegen decompressieziekte.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Belangrijke beperkingen en risico&#8217;s<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nitrox is geen &#8220;diepduikgas&#8221;. Dit kan leiden tot stuiptrekkingen en bewusteloosheid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maximale diepte (MOD):<\/strong>&nbsp;Elk Nitrox-mengsel heeft een strikte&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nitrox\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maximale Operationele Diepte<\/a>&nbsp;die ondieper is dan die van gewone lucht.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Verplichte analyse:<\/strong>&nbsp;Je moet v\u00f3\u00f3r elke duik zelf met een&nbsp;<strong>zuurstofanalyser<\/strong>&nbsp;meten hoeveel zuurstof er in je fles zit om je duikcomputer en dieptelimiet correct in te stellen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Certificering:<\/strong>&nbsp;Je mag alleen met Nitrox duiken als je hiervoor een speciale cursus hebt gevolgd, zoals de&nbsp;PADI Enriched Air Diver specialty of Nitrox Basis van de Nederlandse Onderwatersportbond (NOB).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wil je weten hoe een&nbsp;<strong>Nitrox-cursus<\/strong>&nbsp;er precies uitziet of zoek je een&nbsp;<strong>duikschool<\/strong>&nbsp;bij jou in de buurt om je brevet te halen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maximale diepte<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De maximale diepte (MOD) bij het duiken met Nitrox is afhankelijk van het zuurstofpercentage (<math xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><semantics><mrow><mi>F<\/mi><msub><mi>O<\/mi><mn>2<\/mn><\/msub><\/mrow><annotation encoding=\"text\/plain\">cap F cap O sub 2<\/annotation><\/semantics><\/math>\ud835\udc39\ud835\udc422) en de gekozen parti\u00eble zuurstofdruk (<math xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><semantics><mrow><mi>p<\/mi><mi>p<\/mi><msub><mi>O<\/mi><mn>2<\/mn><\/msub><\/mrow><annotation encoding=\"text\/plain\">p p cap O sub 2<\/annotation><\/semantics><\/math>\ud835\udc5d\ud835\udc5d\ud835\udc422), meestal 1,4 bar voor recreatief duiken. Veelvoorkomende limieten zijn 33-34 meter voor EAN32 (32%<math xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><semantics><msub><mi>O<\/mi><mn>2<\/mn><\/msub><annotation encoding=\"text\/plain\">cap O sub 2<\/annotation><\/semantics><\/math>\ud835\udc422) en 29 meter voor EAN36 (36%<math xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><semantics><msub><mi>O<\/mi><mn>2<\/mn><\/msub><annotation encoding=\"text\/plain\">cap O sub 2<\/annotation><\/semantics><\/math>\ud835\udc422).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Belangrijke details over Nitrox dieptelimieten:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ppO2p p cap O sub 2\ud835\udc5d\ud835\udc5d\ud835\udc422 limiet:<\/strong> Een <math xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><semantics><mrow><mi>p<\/mi><mi>p<\/mi><msub><mi>O<\/mi><mn>2<\/mn><\/msub><\/mrow><annotation encoding=\"text\/plain\">p p cap O sub 2<\/annotation><\/semantics><\/math>\ud835\udc5d\ud835\udc5d\ud835\udc422 van 1,4 bar wordt als veilig beschouwd om zuurstofvergiftiging te voorkomen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>EAN32 (32%):<\/strong> Maximale diepte is ca. 33-34 meter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>EAN36 (36%):<\/strong> Maximale diepte is ca. 29 meter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vuistregel:<\/strong> Een handige vuistregel (bij 1,4 bar) is dat het zuurstofpercentage plus de diepte in meters niet meer dan 65 mag zijn.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check altijd je computer:<\/strong> Stel je duikcomputer altijd in met het juiste <math xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><semantics><mrow><mi>F<\/mi><msub><mi>O<\/mi><mn>2<\/mn><\/msub><\/mrow><annotation encoding=\"text\/plain\">cap F cap O sub
